About Student Conference Series

ISTABA Student Conference Series was initiated the Winter of 2008 and established with two objectives in mind.

1. To impart knowledge to our students through the inspiring and informative Dars by our Teachers of Sacred Knowledge. The knowledge is focused on lessons that students can implement in their daily lives.

2. To develop the spirit of Jama'ah in the Muslim youth

Each morning of the Conference begins with a Lecture by one of our Teachers of Sacred Knowledge and is followed by a Question & Answer Session. Following the lecture, students and teachers develop the spirit of Jam'ah by eating lunch together and praying together. A Dinner Reception is held on the last day of the Conference as well as a Diploma Ceremony that signifies the students' responsibility to pass the knowledge they have gained. An Essay Competition is also held and the highest ranking essays are awarded. In this manner, we hope to also motivate students to express their ideas through writing.

Two Conferences are held each year during the Summer: one for young Muslim men and one for young Muslim women. The Conferences are held separately as they are held during different weeks. Each Conference is five days long.
